2015 Global TapRooT® Summit After Hours: Container Park
This column highlights some fun things to do to unwind in Vegas after a full day of learning and networking at the 2015 Global TapRooT® Summit.
There’s more to Vegas than “The Strip,” so today and the next couple of weeks we are highlighting some fun places to visit downtown. (Didn’t know The Strip was not considered downtown? Downtown has a completely different and unique vibe. And we learned on our site visit that there’s actually a pretty big rivalry between downtown and The Strip!)
Downtown is very easy to get to — just grab a taxi at the Flamingo Las Vegas Resort taxi stand and you’ll be there in less than 20 minutes. Cab fare is about $28 one-way, so get a small group together and split the fare for a low cost, no worry mode of transportation.
First up, we’d like to feature Container Park. Located at 707 Fremont Street (Fremont & 7th), Container Park is a unique venue offering a variety of great options for food and drinks.
.
The latest addition to downtown expansion and revitalization, Container Park is made up of 45 repurposed, different-sized shipping containers. It also features 43 Xtreme Cubes, and the containers and cubes house the shops, restaurants and bars.

This open air shopping park located on historic Fremont Street also hosts live concerts, movies and a children’s park. So, if you brought the spouse and kids, you can enjoy a glass of wine in the open air, listen to live music, and watch the kids play on the treehouse and playground.

We visited in February, and can’t wait to go back in June where things are sure to heat up in Vegas on summer nights.
