Sharing Knowledge

Knowledge

Get You the Knowledge You Need

Teaching root cause analysis around the world provides a unique insight into the problems that companies are experiencing and the best practices that can improve performance. Back in 1993, we decided that we needed to share the knowledge we were acquiring and encourage TapRooT® Users to share their best practices. That is how the first TapRooT® Summit was born in 1994.

When planning the Summit, we use the knowledge we gain by teaching TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis to plan sessions to help people avoid incidents and improve performance. Plus, we talk to our TapRooT® Users and TapRooT® Advisory Board Members to collect their best practices and encourage them to present what they have learned at the Summit.

We think this “KNOWLEDGE SUMMIT” provides the information that you need as a performance improvement expert. Knowledge for improving:

  • Safety
  • Equipment Reliability
  • Quality
  • Operational Excellence
  • Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
  • Human Performance

To make it easier to decide which sessions to attend, we organize the knowledge sharing into Best Practice Tracks.

Best Practice Tracks

We organize these talks, best practice and lessons learned presentations, and interactive roundtable discussions into Best Practice Tracks. The tracks at the 2025 Global TapRooT® Summit are:

Note that when you register, you can customize your Summit experience by selecting sessions from more than one track to customize your agenda.

Keynote Speakers

But that isn’t all the planning for the Summit.

One of the things that I enjoy the most is selecting the Summit’s keynote speakers. I choose people:

  • With applicable knowledge to share,
  • Who are exciting and motivating to listen to,
  • That you may not have heard from before, and
  • That I am interested in meeting and listening to.

The five Keynote Speakers that I selected for the 2025 are:

Networking/Benchmarking

Yes, the speakers are great. However, Summit participants will probably get just as much knowledge from other Summit participants as they will in the planned sessions.

We not only provide opportunities to meet and share information with other attendees, but we are also experts at making networking and benchmarking FUN. This starts at the beginning of the Summit in the Ready, Set, Go! Session (The Name Game) and continues through the roundtable discussions, the Wednesday reception, and the opportunity to meet the Keynote Speakers and the TapRooT® Staff.

Why is making the Summit FUN one of our priorities? Because we believe people learn more when having fun.

But There’s More! Pre-Summit Courses

Amy Teaching a TapRooT® ® Root Cause Analysis Course

We started adding pre-Summit Courses to the Summit experience back in 1995. The pre-Summit Courses are focused on a single topic that attendees might want to explore in more depth. This year, there are 11 of the optional 2-Day pre-Summit Courses:
