What is the Backbone of Your Improvement Efforts?

Backbone

Feedback From TapRooT® Users

Lately, I’ve had several TapRooT® Users with safety backgrounds tell me how much TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis helps them perform their job. In addition to helping them find the root causes of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, they said that it helps them:

  • Make decisions,
  • Target audits,
  • Recognize hazards they previously overlooked,
  • Facilitate learning teams,
  • Plan improvement efforts,
  • Explain the need for safety rules,
  • Understand why safety rules are broken (or ignored),
  • Develop ideas for positive enforcement of safety rules,
  • Have positive discussions about safety with others who have been TapRooT® Trained, and
  • Stop blame and change the culture in their organization.

That’s an interesting list.

Who Needs the Insight TapRooT® Training Provides?

This got me thinking…

Should everyone involved in safety be trained in TapRooT® RCA?

What do you think? Would TapRooT® Training help others involved in safety in their daily jobs?

The Backbone of Improvement Efforts

Then, I thought one step beyond that …

Isn’t everyone involved in improvement in one form or another?

What would be the positive outcome if everyone spoke the same language when discussing performance improvement? Should the TapRooT® System be the backbone of all your improvement efforts? Shouldn’t everyone involved in improvement attend a TapRooT® RCA Course?
