What does a bad day look like? Nepal plane encounters wild boars on runway
Accident: Wild boars strike Sita D228 at Nepalgunj airport, November 2, 2021.
On a flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot (Nepal), a Sita Air Dornier D228, registration 9N-AHB, collided with three wild boars upon accelerating for takeoff on the runway.
The flight had 17 people on board and was accelerating for takeoff from Nepalgunj when the aircraft collided with the three wild boars, prompting the crew to reject takeoff due to problems with the nose gear. |
After the collision with the wild boars, the aircraft came to a stop . . .
. . . with the nose gear partially collapsed and bent backwards. Additionally, the plane sustained damage to the underside of the fuselage.
There were no injuries to the aircraft occupants.
As for the three wild boars, they did not survive.
