What is it when you see seaweed moving toward you?

Look twice when you notice seaweed that seems to move without the water propelling it.

Folks at the Wembury Marine Centre in the UK conduct “night-time rockpool safaris” and during one evening spotted what appeared to be seaweed but turned out to be a “long-legged spider crab,” marveling over its camouflage. Wembury Marine Centre informs us that the real name for the seaweed-like creature is “Macropodia rostrata,” and the species in the UK looks like seaweed because it camouflages itself with algae.
